New Music

On air:

Isabelle presents 'Oh the Mirth' and Ellie presents themed shows on alternate weeks.

I'm Isabelle Neill and I present the 'Oh the Mirth' show on Future Radio from 6-7pm every other Monday night. I bring a mixture of experimental, alternative rock, world music, pop, and hip hop from around the world, to local artists and bands. Its an hour filled with interesting music, regular features like The Blast from the Past (where I pick a year, and see what was number 1 in the charts on the date the show is on), Album of the Fortnight (I start and end the show with the artist, choosing tracks for the new album) and regular interviews from near and far artists.

I will be keeping a regular blog keeping you updated with track listings, photos with/of the bands I interview and latest facts and information I find out about sweet new bands!

My latest feature 'People Power' allows you to let me know what you would love to hear on the radio. Maybe you love a tiny little band who none of your friends have heard of and it would never be played on the radio usually, or its a guilty pleasure you want to hear on the radio again, this feature allows you to do so. Get involved! I would love to know what music your into.

Also if you are a local artist or in a band and would like me to check out your music get in contact with me at: www.myspace.com/iszrose.

Every alternative Monday to Isabelle is an hour with me, Ellie. The show has recently changed - where it used to be based on themes, the show is now centred around music which is chosen based on its relation to the song played before. Inspired by the six degrees of seperation theory (that every person in the world can be linked together by 6 stages of aquaintances) the links between songs can be simple or obscure. Including all genres, decades and languages, no show ever ends how it begins!

Soweto Gospel Choir

A few weeks ago, the amazing Soweto Gospel Choir came to the Norwich Theatre Royal. I'm in NYFC Gospel Choir, and we were very luck to be invited to watch Soweto GC do their sound check. Here are some videos.. I will be talking about the gig on the show tonight (19/10/09) and if you would like to see a video, head over to youtube and search 'ohthemirth888' for my videos!

Green Man Festival, Wales, 2009 Podcast

This summer, I went to Green Man Festival in Wales. It was a fantastic festival in a beautiful location (Abergavenny), and had an amazing line-up. I profile a lot of bands that were on this years line up, so when I was at the festival I made a report of the whole weekend, interviewing bands like Wave Machines, She Keeps Bees, and Bon Iver, as well as talking to the audience to hear their opinion of the festival. I played this report on my show, Oh The Mirth, Monday 6-7pm, a few weeks ago on my Green Man Special, and thought I would make it into a Podcast - enjoy!
