It might not be the most normal Christmas this year, but Future Radio will be with you every step of the way during this festive period. Check out some of the highlights on our special Christmas schedule below.
Christmas Eve
7am Breakfast with Future Radio
Jamie is on air Christmas Eve morning to start your day with local news, travel, tunes and laughs.
9am Business Life with Richard and Anna
Richard Maun and Anna Stevenson return for a special Business Life on Christmas Eve with festive tunes and tips for businesses after a tough 2020.
12pm Community Session with Mike Stonard
Festive tunes and local news on our community hub for all things Norwich.
1pm Future Vegan Christmas Special with Emily Moore
A special Christmas eve edition of Future Vegan. We’re repeating interviews with Carina from Anticarnist and Steve from Tofurei, plus Jen Armstrong (Vegan Queen V) talking about her vegan inspiration.
2pm Bowthorpe Church Christmas Carol
A special Christmas carol service recorded at Bowthorpe Church led by Reverend Mark Elvin featuring stories from the local community and how they’ve coped during the pandemic.
3pm We present two special programmes “Music and the Spoken Word” recorded at Historic Temple Square in Salt Lake City featuring a 360 strong voice choir ang guest performers. Today’s editions:

4pm Drive with Saffie
Saffie hosts a special drive full of festive cheer and tunes, plus all the latest travel information to help you drive home for Christmas!
6pm Pride Live Eurovision Christmas Special
In the first of two shows over Christmas and New Year, David Mann presents a selection of stars from Eurovison Song Contests past and present as they turn their attentions to performing some seasonal songs for Christmas.
7pm Better Together Norfolk with Will Dowe
Will Dowe presents a special edition of the show bringing people together for Christmas and offering support for those who are vulnerable and isolated this Christmas.
8pm Slab City with Carmichael
Electronic music and ambience for your Christmas Eve night.
Friday 25th December - Christmas Day
8am Christmas Morning with Steve Burnham
Join Steve Burnham to start your Christmas morning with classic festive tunes.
9am Bowthorpe Church Christmas Carol
Another chance to hear our special Christmas carol service recorded at Bowthorpe Church led by Reverend Mark Elvin featuring stories from the local community and how they’ve coped during the pandemic.
10am A Very Newton Christmas
Father and son David and Toby Newton are LIVE in the studio playing Christmas tunes with laughs and stories in between. Tune in and take part!
12pm Christmas Community Session with Mike Stonard
Mike is live on Christmas Day to bring you festive cheer, stories and tunes in an extra special edition of the Community Session.

3pm Golden Days with Alan Thompson
Groove Britain presenter and all round radio legend Alan Thompson has dug into his personal archive and presents Golden Days. On this edition Dave Cash speaks to Alan about his association with Kenny Everett and coming from the offshore stations to the BBC. This edition also includes The London-American Story; from the NME 16th April 1965 and tracks from the Class of 64 CD from Radio City Gold with Alan’s old chum Frankie Connor, David Kerrigan and Tony Crane & Billy Kinsley (Mersey Beats).
Thursday 31st December – New Year’s Eve
Morning schedule is as normal.
We have a special evening of programmes for your New Year’s Party in Norwich!
3pm Golden Days with Alan Thompson
Groove Britain presenter and all round radio legend Alan Thompson has dug into his personal archive and presents Golden Days. Today’s edition is Sounds of the Seventies; this one includes a face to face interview with relevant discs of the era with Mike Harding, who not only presented part of the original 70s series in Radio 1, but also engineered the sessions with Rod Stewart, Slade and Alexis Korner.
4pm Drive New Year’s Party with Saffie
Saffie’s on drive to kick start the new year’s party early, with the latest travel news thrown in!
6pm The New Year’s Eve Festival with Sam Day
Bringing the festival party to you start your New Year’s Eve evening on Future Radio with big tunes and mixes.
8pm-10pm Chrome Funk and Soul Show
Chrome brings you a special edition of his Funk and Soul show for New Year’s Eve.
10pm New Year’s Live with Rammer
Rammer is live in the studio to take you out of 2020 (at last) and into 2021. Expect tunes, guests and laughs. Let us know what you’re up to and take part!

In the second of two seasonal shows for Future Radio, David Mann plays some recent new releases from artists who have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, and after the disappointment of the the cancellation of the 2020 Contest, looks forward to the new Eurovision season and the 2021 show in Rotterdam next May.
