Future Radio Presenter Nominated for Community Radio Awards
Sam joined us in 2015 after graduating from the University of East Anglia, where he had already established his broadcast talents with the university’s radio station, Livewire 1350, receiving an Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of his efforts. Since then, Sam has continued to make a big splash on the airwaves, becoming a popular household name as presenter of Future’s Breakfast Show.
The Community Radio Awards aim to celebrate community radio and the hard work and time that the volunteers involved contribute to their stations, shows and communities. It is a real honour to have Sam nominated for this award and we are proud to offer a platform that helps nurture radio talent of the future. We are sure that Sam will go on to have a great broadcasting career, alongside the likes of Greg James, now presenting the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, and Hana Lockier of Radio 2, who also developed their skills with Future Radio over the years.
The ceremony will be held on the 26th October at the Memo Arts Centre in Barry, and we all have our fingers crossed for him. Dean Tucker, Broadcast Coordinator for Future Radio will be attending also and is brimming with excitement for Sam.
“We are thrilled that Sam has been nominated. Since he started at Future Radio I have seen Sam progress and he has worked very hard to become the brilliant presenter that he now is on our flagship breakfast show. His passion shines through on air. We do hope he will bring home some silverware from the west to the east! But whatever happens Sam deserves the recognition and I am sure he will go on to have an amazing career.” – Dean Tucker
