What's On Norwich, sponsored by LiT Circus and The Oak Circus Centre

Have you heard our new and improved What’s On Guides, broadcast four times a day in our Breakfast and Drive shows? The Guides are a snapshot of highlighted events coming up in Norwich, from local artists performing at open mics to international acts on stadium tours and guarantee that you will be kept up to date with all the goings on in our fine city. We are also very happy to say that the guides have a new sponsor, in Lost in Translation Circus and The Oak Circus Centre! If you haven’t heard about the opportunities to get involved with the circus in Norwich, run by one of the UK’s leading contemporary circus companies, then read all about them below.

The Oak Circus Centre is located in Oak Street, just north of the city centre in a medieval church, over 500 years old. It is the leading circus centre for the development of circus in Norwich. A fully equipped circus training centre and performance venue – because of the height it is perfect for trapeze and cloud swing.

Classes are delivered by resident company Lost in Translation Circus: an international and professional circus company of highly skilled performers and tutors. They run classes tailored for all ages and abilities… because you’re never too old to run away with the circus. Not only can you fly high in all aerial classes, but you can stay on the ground if you prefer – and learn hula hoops, handstands, acrobatics, juggling, and much more. This is the place if you want to learn proper circus techniques and be safe in the air and on the ground, with the most experienced coaches to follow your progress.

Circus has an enormous range of benefits both mental and physical. From improving core strength, balance, motivation and discipline to social interaction, confidence, trust and teamwork. Come and try it!

The Lost in Translation Circus is one of the UK’s leading contemporary circus companies, we would describe our work as ‘properly old-fashioned contemporary circus’. We’re touring the UK and the world with our shows: stories in which we include high-level, dynamic circus skills – and with theatre and humour as trademarks. The performing artists of the circus managed to break several Guinness World Records for the most somersaults in one minute on a Korean Cradle. Shows like The Hogwallops and Hotel Paradiso are big hits at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and tour internationally to great acclaim. 2020 starts with tours in Bermuda and Australia! Find out more about what LiT Circus and The Oak Circus Centre are up to here - www.litcircus.com
