Breakfast Presenter’s Charity ‘Marathon’ Broadcast
Future Radio’s breakfast presenter Terry Lee is so keen not to be drafted in to run the City of Norwich Half Marathon that he has decided to set up his very own endurance test; staying on air for 27 hours.
On Thursday November 26th Terry will be starting his show at 7am as normal, but then finishing 27 hours later at 10am on Friday 27th November! In this time Terry will be presenting non-stop; with special guests, features, live-music, as well as exhausting his record collection through the early hours.
Already confirmed on Terry’s broadcast are a coffee specialist from Wilkinson’s of Norwich, sleep expert Dr Neil Stanley, live music from local folk artist Jess Morgan, this year’s Next Big Thing winners Console Wars, world-famous shellac spinner DJ78, and many many more.
Terry said: “Although we won’t be breaking any world records with this broadcast, this is without doubt the biggest challenge I’ve taken up in my radio career. I’m looking forward to interacting with listeners in the early hours, and hope that I am still decipherable on Friday morning!”
Station Manager Tom Buckham said: “Terry’s marathon broadcast is testament to Future Radio’s commitment to offer something different to radio audiences across Norwich - with some interesting guests and features lined up it should make for some memorable output, and will be another example of Future Radio pushing creative boundaries”.
Terry's non-stop broadcast will act as a starting point to the Norwich Half Marathon on Sunday 29th November - which will see a selection of other Future Radio DJs running to raise money for the station.
