More about the band...

White Horse is the debut single from Norwich’s Console Wars.
Console Wars are an alternative pop band from the UK. Formed in early 2008 whilst studying at UEA in Norwich, the band consists of Stephen Alexander (lead vocals/guitar/synth), Craig Harton (guitar), Jack Barrington Stewart (bass), Anthony Hall (guitar/synth) and Jeremy Burnel (drums). The quintet gigged briefly under the name Voyagers before taking a year out to study abroad and to rethink the band’s image and sound. They reformed under the name Console Wars in late 2009, winning Future Radio’s annual Next Big Thing competition, coming first out of 140 bands. As well as being frequently featured on BBC Norfolk Introducing, they have built a large local fan base and have their debut single launch planned for June 2010. The band is known for their absorbing, loud performances and their amalgamation of different schools of music. They are currently signed to Milkbar Records.
White Horse
Evolving from rough bedroom demo to full blown studio epic in the space of a month, White Horse showcases a band realising their potential. The band’s debut single reflects a penchant for the enduring song writing of Bruce Springsteen and Roy Orbison, whilst combining catchy synth-driven pop riffs with the opulent guitar work of early U2. Stephen Alexander’s sombre baritone strikes a dissonance with the galloping pop musicianship, paralleling the lyric’s reflection on a personal experience of love against the social kitsch of human relations.
Take Forever
A popular two minute dance song, Take Forever hovers jangly C86 style guitars and electronic stabs over a disco beat, before giving way to a chorus of swelling synths and razor-sharp guitars. The track draws to a dramatic close, as Craig Harton’s power chords channel the spirit of early-90’s Seattle.
Theodore (Live)
Console Wars’ heaviest song to date, Theodore showcases the band’s competence and energy during a live performance. Duelling guitars soar over a pulsating baseline, before bring the song to a nerve-shredding climax.
