This programme of Chance Music features five solo percussion works paired with Bach’s keyboard music. Percussionist Simone Mancuso, who was born in Italy but currently lives in America, has collaborated with many leading contemporary composers including Karlheinz Stockhausen. The programme begins and ends with Simone Mancuso playing works by two Italian composers, while the centrepiece is a rare performance of John Cage’s three compositions for amplified plants, which push the envelope of this adventurous programme even further than usual.
