Future Projects delivers a broad range of youth-based projects in response to local needs. We pride ourselves on offering a bespoke and bold approach to working with young people which often utilises the facilities and skills we, as an organisation, have to offer in order to help young people in challenging circumstances to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to overcome their challenges.
We have developed our youth engagement and participation approaches over a 5 year period through our Big Lottery funded "BE" Project; a project which has engendered Future Projects with the ethos of placing the young person at the heart of our programmes, enabling and supporting them - through meaningful consultation - to shape our work so that it is more suitable and effective for those involved.
Future Radio is a particularly successful in engaging with young people through its interesting and exciting content, state-of-the-art facilities and software, varied and culturally significant music, and a wide reach across the airwaves of Norwich.
We are able to offer various opportunities for young people such as training to record and edit their own show (which could be aired on Future Radio 107.8 Fm) or undertaking community reporter training which helps young people to build media and employability skills whilst ensuring that their voice is heard.
We also offer a broad range of music/media training packages, performance opportunities, recording, broadcast training, DJing and more and we are able to adjust our packages to suit individual needs such as those with disabilities, children with emotional or behavioural difficulties, children with special educational needs and other specific requirements.
Our work complements and supports wider initiatives and strategies to meet need and overcome social, economic or other disadvantage and we offer support, resources and partnering opportunities to other providers working with young people. It is our aim to help other youth organisations to adopt our approach and achieve positive outcomes for young people.
In order to achieve this we offer access to simplified monitoring tools, youth consultation packages and youth engagement toolkits.
