About the Show
Alongside great music, the 12th Man Talking Dads show will hear from dads in Norfolk about what it’s like to be a father in the 21st Century. Over the last twenty years, fathers have been getting more involved in their children’s lives and playing a greater role. Making sense of this developing role can be confusing for many of us, and in this show we will find out more about the ordinary and extraordinary lives of some local fathers.
Being a dad is just as important as being a mum, yet there aren’t many public spaces where we talk about what being a father means today. We will hear from men with a wide range of parenting experiences: young, the not so young, single, dads who don’t live with their children, dads with disabilities, dads with children with disabilities, the list goes on. These local dads will talk about the highs, the lows, the joys, and the challenges of being a parent. As with all the 12th Man radio shows there will be a strong emphasis on men’s mental health and every month we will also hear from local services about how they are supporting both mums and dads. Every month we will also follow one man’s journey into first time fatherhood.
The truth is, dads like to talk about everything including their feelings, their love, and their anxieties and you can hear it all on the 12th Man Talking Dads show on Future Radio.
