Muscle Shoals Alabama is an unlikely small town where legendary studios like FAME and the Muscle Shoals Sound studios have over several decades produced hits for artists from the Rolling Stone to Aretha Franklin, Lynryd Skynyrd to Wilson Pickett and a zillion more of every genre. Steve Morphew visited thee for Future Radio this year and on Tuesday 27th at 6pm brings us a special introduction. You may be surprised to find just how much of your music collection owes a real debt to to a bunch of session musicians called the Swampers and a studio that used to be a coffin showroom.

Steve Morphew
A lifelong Blues lover, traveller and heavily involved in local life, Steve fell in love with Norwich half a lifetime ago and made it home. As well as being active in local politics and community groups Steve writes for Blues in Britain, co-runs Fine City Blues and enjoys searching out additions to his collection to play on his show. The only thing he regrets about Norwich is that the Mississippi doesn’t flow through the city and we don’t have any juke joints. Steve makes up for that with trips to the cradle of the Blues whenever he can.
