About the Show
For nearly a decade Steve has been bringing the Best of the Blues to Norwich. Tracking down rarities to add to local artists, classics and new releases every week there’s something special. At the root of many genres of music lies the Blues and some real social history.
Blues music is at the root of most modern music – scratch the surface and the Blues isn’t many layers down. Best of the Blues plays the classic Blues records from the past hundred years with a focus on what’s happening now – especially in Norwich . The Wensum may not be the Mississippi but Norwich is a growing hub of Blues music in the UK . So whether you want to dance, listen or immerse yourself in the well that so many musical styles were drawn from, the Best of the Blues is the show for you. Plus great stories from artists interviewed usually in the run up to an appearance locally.
So if you’re a fan, a band or a venue that puts on Blues music ‘Best of the Blues’ wants to broadcast your news. Steve Morphew is passionate about broadcasting Blues music and helping local Blues musicians. If you want to be part of that then get in touch with Steve direct by email to bestoftheblues@futureradio.co.uk, Like us on Facebook ‘Best of the Blues – Future Radio’ and Follow on Twitter @bestoftheblues.
Music submissions welcome – CD’s to Future Radio and MP3 320kpbs by email, but usually best to get in touch before sending them to the show.
Meet Your Hosts

Steve Morphew
A lifelong Blues lover, traveller and heavily involved in local life, Steve fell in love with Norwich half a lifetime ago and made it home. As well as being active in local politics and community groups Steve writes for Blues in Britain, co-runs Fine City Blues and enjoys searching out additions to his collection to play on his show. The only thing he regrets about Norwich is that the Mississippi doesn’t flow through the city and we don’t have any juke joints. Steve makes up for that with trips to the cradle of the Blues whenever he can.
