About the Show
‘Strictly Retro’ is a fortnightly show focusing on music from the fifties through to the late seventies. Not a ‘golden oldies’ show as the content is a mix of the familiar and less well-known, covering a range of musical styles and genres, from blues to R & B, prog to punk and new wave, psych to power pop, rockabilly to reggae….and much more besides!

Peter Wood
My particular interest in music dates back to the early sixties, when I’d avidly listen on the radio to shows like ‘Saturday Club’ and ‘Pick of the Pops’. Such programmes were in short supply then so I’d supplement my consumption by playing dance band records on my parent’s wind-up gramophone. Nowadays I’d like to think my musical tastes are eclectic, though I have an especial interest in the popular music I grew up with.
