Future Radio and Norwich Theatre are excited to launch a brand-new radio show about everything that’s going on at Norwich Theatre Royal, Playhouse, Stage Two and Beyond.
Charlotte and Frankie from Norwich Theatre will be on air at 6pm on the first Monday of every month, sharing behind the scenes stories; interviewing local artists and creatives; playing toe-tapping tunes from upcoming musicals; and much more.
Plus, each episode will feature the best of interviews with the stars from the podcast, Norwich Theatre Talks. Previous guests have included the likes of Craig Revel Horwood, Derren Brown & Sir Matthew Bourne.
The first episode of Stage Door in association with Norwich Theatre, is packed with exclusive content. It features an in-depth interview with Dan Smith, the Creative Director of Sound Ideas, who discusses their latest production, The SpongeBob Musical at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. The episode also offers a sneak peek into the upcoming shows at Norwich Theatre, including those that have just gone on sale. And, of course, it’s not a theatre show on the radio without some great tunes from both on and off the stage.
Plus, the show features interviews from Norwich Theatre’s award-winning podcast, Norwich Theatre Talks, which is hosted by Stephen Crocker, the Chief Executive and Creative Director of Norwich Theatre. This month’s episode features comedian Maisie Adam who talks about her latest show, getting feedback from the audience and where to find the freshest comedians.
Rebecca Lyon, Head of Communications at Norwich Theatre said: “Our Norwich Theatre Talks podcast has begun its third season, having previously won a Norfolk Arts Award for Best Broadcast Media. We wanted to do something special with it, and are thrilled to partner with our brilliant local radio station to now reach even more theatre fans.
“Our show is called Stage Door and it will have the inside scoop on the latest shows to go on sale and tour to our region. It is also a real celebration of creativity: the people and performances that make Norwich such a special place. Huge thanks to the team at Future for their support and we hope everyone tunes in this evening or online.”
Daniel Childerhouse, CEO of Future Projects, said: “We are delighted to support our friends at Norwich Theatre by partnering with them on this new initiative via Future Radio. As the only remaining truly local radio station in Norwich, we recognise our role in shining a light on cultural and recreational activities here in our fine city, and we’re so pleased to be able to promote the amazing work of Norwich Theatre.
“This project is a great example of two different mediums coming together to provide the people of Norwich with some truly exciting experiences.”
